The Phlog

A quieter place

Well, that escalated quickly

It's ugly out there in social media. I've recently come in contact with some of the worst of it and even more painfully, it's come from friends and family.

Sure, there's divisiveness, but I thought in the end we'd still land on choosing relationships over rightness. Instead, it's become an escalating war of lobbing incendiaries at each other from entrenched positions. If I let it, it could crush my last hope in people and my own spirit. So, I'm choosing to go a different way.

I've learned this year that life is better offline. Off phone, off screen, off notifications, off hurry, off the yelling and moralizing and bullying.

I'll go more into how I'm doing that in future posts. The point now is that you won't find me on social media. Anything I would think about sharing there, I'll share here. So if you want to keep up with me, this is the place to do it. I can't promise it will be worth your time, but I can promise it will be quiet.
